A Luncheon Briefing featuringRodolfo R. Sabonge Friday, June 4 12:00
Noon (11:30 a.m. reception) The luncheon briefing is part of the 15th Annual International Program for Port Planning and Management (IPPPM), which is conducted at the World Trade Center by the University of New Orleans’ College of Urban Studies. This two-week intensive training program fosters closer ties between the U.S. and other countries, facilitates international trade between Louisiana and world ports, increases maritime expertise around the world, and builds a network of international problem-solvers. Over the past 14 years, 436 participants from 95 countries have graduated from IPPPM. About Rodolfo R. Sabonge Rodolfo R. Sabonge was recently appointed Director of Corporate Planning and Marketing of the Panama Canal Commission. He previously served as Marketing Manager, responsible for market and economic research, competitive intelligence, and customer relations. Mr. Sabonge has worked with the Canal organization since 1986 holding several key management positions in various divisions of the agency. In the private sector, Mr.Sabonge worked in the electronics industry in the United States for four years. After returning to Panama, he held the position of General Manager of the Panama Railroad. He later worked as assistant to the president for Panama’s largest cement and concrete products manufacturer. Mr. Sabonge is also a professor of post-graduate studies at two private universities in Panama. Mr. Sabonge holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame, did post-graduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Miami in Florida, and obtained a Master’s degree in Maritime Development from the School of Law at the University of Panama.
