The members of the delegation will describe a wide range of trade and
investment opportunities for Louisiana companies in port projects under
development in the Russian northwest region (Kaliningrad, Karelia, Murmansk,
Vologoda, St. Petersburg, and Leningrad Oblast). The delegation is in the U.S.
for four weeks of training organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s
Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) program. SABIT has
successfully trained over 1,400 executives and scientists from the New
Independent States (NIS).

construction of a specialized export gas port terminal on the Gulf of
Finland on the Baltic Sea.

- The Division for Investments works with the Russian Federal Program
for the Revival of the Russian Merchant Marine and organizes the
construction and reconstruction of ports and harbors, attracts
investments to the projects and deals with contracting with domestic
and foreign contractors participating in the project.

activities of the port are the storage, loading and unloading of
timber, general cargo, reefer cargo and containers, the transportation

- The Maritime Administration is part of the Russian Federal
Government and is responsible for international agreements on sea
transportation as well as overseeing that the laws and requirements of
the Russian Federation and international agreements in the field of
sea trade and navigation are observed.

- Primorsky LPG Terminal’s main activities are project management,
design and construction of a specialized export gas port terminal on
the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea. The terminal will be used for
the transshipment and transportation of liquefied gas and ammonia from
railway transport to carrier vessels.

port of St. Petersburg handles one-quarter of the total volume of

- The port’s main activities are the operation of freight and

- The White Sea and Onega Shipping Company provides transportation of

- LenmorNIIproekt is a design institute located in St. Petersburg
which is involved in the design, survey and research of Russian marine
transportation. The institute is involved in port development and

- North-Western Shipping Company’s main activities are cargo
transportation in the Russian North Western basin, loading and
unloading and transshipment of cargo on river ports, maintenance of

processing ships with a cargo capacity of up to 10,000 tons.
