About David S. S. Chin

David S.S. Chin is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the SingaporeTrade Development Board. He is the Chairman of Singapore’s Inter-Agency Steering Committee on Logistics, which comprises 14 government agencies involved in the logistics sector. The Steering Committee initiated the Logistics Enhancement Application Programme (LEAP) in 1997, which aims to upgrade the capabilities of the logistics industry in Singapore. Mr. Chin is a graduate of the Singapore Polytechnic with a Technician Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Polytechnic, UK, and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Marine Engineering. He is a Fellow of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineer of Singapore and a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineers, UK. Mr. Chin is also the Deputy Chairman of the Singapore Commodity Exchange Limited; Board Director of SilkAir (Singapore) Pte, Ltd. and Vice Chairman of the International Merchandise Mart Limited.
