Ambassador Mario Canahuati brings the entrepreneurial
perspective to his government position as Ambassador of Honduras to
the United States. Previously he was president, CEO, and a board
member of several companies.
As a leader of private sector initiatives, he has been actively
involved in the representation of the business sector as President
of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cortes, President of the
Directorate of the Commerce Economic System, Vice-President of the
Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Honduras, Director of the
Honduran Council for Private Enterprise, Representative in the
Negotiation Committee of Bilateral Treaties, Board Member of the San
Pedro Sula International Airport, and Member of the Sula Valley
National Commission.
In addition, Ambassador Canahuati - a firm believer in education as
the key to development - has contributed extensively to education
programs for children from low-income families in
Honduras. He is founder and president of The MHOTIVO
Foundation (More Hondurans Having Identity, Values and Pride),
