Why Belgium?

Camille Sailer took up her duties as Regional Commercial
Counselor representing Commercial Service Belgium and Luxembourg in
August 2002 advocating for U.S. business interests in markets
critically important to American companies. In her position as
Commercial Counselor, Ms. Sailer is responsible for management of a
complex and high profile program, counseling U.S. investors and
promoting American exports to the Belgian and Luxembourg markets.
From 1995 - 2002, Ms. Sailer served as Commercial Counselor at
the American Embassy in Seoul where she formulated trade policy and
market access measures to assist American firms obtain a foothold in
the tough Korean market.
From May 1991 - 1995, Ms. Sailer served in Stuttgart, Germany as
Principal Commercial Officer and Consul at the American Consulate
General, where she played a key role in expanding the presence of
American companies in the complex regulatory environment represented
by the German market.
Before her assignment to Stuttgart, Ms. Sailer spent nine years
in Seoul when she first served with the American Embassy advising
U.S. firms regarding investment problems and market access. Prior to
that time, she served as a Foreign Service Officer with the
Department of State at the American Embassy in Buenos Aires and
Seoul and then as a legal advisor with a Korean international law
firm. Ms. Sailer also has taught business and trade law as visiting
professor for the University of Maryland.
Ms. Sailer comes from the Philadelphia area and is a member of
the Pennsylvania Bar. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Lafayette
College and received her law degree from Villanova University. She
also attended the University of Madrid where she received a degree
in Spanish studies summa cum laude. Her languages are German,
Spanish, French and Korean, and Dutch. She enjoys many sports and
has a third-degree black belt in taekwondo.
